It's Friday and time for another finish! As I said in my Monday post ~ this item will be very useful in our home. Here's the result ~
I have this next to our desk and will use it to hold our bills, cards, etc. Stamps are in the box. It is working out so well already! It's nice to have everything visible and I can organize by due date in the slots. If you ever see one of these, I recommend grabbing it!
For next week's makeover, I'm thinking of tackling a slightly larger project. We are heading out on our annual leaf viewing trip this weekend and can't wait. It should be a fantastic year for color and we are hoping to see lots of bald eagles! I'm hoping to find lots of treasures at the many antique malls we hit along the way!

Oooooo! I really like that...but of course black is my favorite color...with a little red and mustard!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend...the leave are indeed gorgeous!
OK, dear wise friend. How do you do the distressing? I'm working on that shelf I got...think I have a place to put it. Just want to get it to look right....do you sand it? You mentioned car wax? Did I miss the post where you told us how you did it? Do tell. This was indeed a great purchase!
ReplyDeleteDepending on how much distressing you want, put 2-3 coats of paint on and let it dry ~ really dry, or your sandpaper gets gummy. Then start sanding lightly until you get the look you want. Wipe it down until all the dust is off, then I use car wax to seal it, but make sure it doesn't contain silicone. I can help you next week if you would like.
ReplyDeleteTurned out wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteGreat job.
